On April 25, 1945, the northern people of Italy held an uprising, liberating large cities such as Milan, Turin, and Genoa, expelling Hitler's German occupying forces, and ending 20 years of fascism.

On this day, the Italians will celebrate their separation from fascism and the Nazis at the end of the Second World War.
