The National Day of Italy is June 2 each year. On June 2, 1946, a referendum in Italy officially abolished the monarchy and established the Republic of Italy.

On this day of the year, many people fly the national flag, and the streets are filled with joy. The most important celebration is the grand military parade on Via dei Fori Imperiali.
